Edit2: after watching more videos it looks like there is a pinch sensor :(. But I hope someone can tell me if it has been improved to help stop or slow down corrosion. I have had the litter robot 2 and am using the litter robot 3 for a few years now. But the thing I hate most are the sensors. Specifically the pinch sensor and bonnet sensor.
I have had the pinch detect warning come up a handful of times now in the past 3 months or so. Usually I just take apart the machine, clean out any debris, make sure the pinch detect metal pieces are in place and touching, put the machine back together and typically that will fix the issue. This time, however, nothing seems to work. Few steps: 1: Cut either the black or blue wire. 2: Get a 2k ohm resistor. (I didn't have any so I used a resistor and a potentiometer.) P.s. The litter robot sends 5v to the cat sensor and gets 0,9v back, therefore you need the 2k ohm resistor. 3: Make the pressure point where the cat sensor were placed, to a switch.I replaced the DFI and pinch detect terminals about 1.5-2 years ago and it's been working pretty well since then. A few days ago, the unit stopped cycling entirely. Hey, all. About 9 months after the purchase of my litter robot 3 connect, I got the rapid yellow flash, telling me I had a fault in my pinch detector.
