not sure if its just me and my game but did the new mission and got the cargo bulkhead reward item, placed it in my freighter inventory and went to use it in the terminal to upgrade inventory slots... long story short it didnt consume on use i now have a S class 48/21 freighter...

If this is correct, I have no need to hunt for an S class, since I can already outwarp a fully upgraded S class with my Hauler.
