I've found a way to cheese Skeletron Prime. If you spawn him and then go down your hellevator (stopping occasionally to make sure he's still following you) when you get down to hell, 2 of his arms will be gone. From then on you can just fight him on your hell-platform. I've tried this multiple times and got the same results.
